Hello friend's, and welcome aboard the website for Phuket Alternative Tours! We started this website way back on 2006, and now it is becoming a great resource for planning your perfect holiday.

What's it about?

Captain Mark started Phuket Sail Tours in 2004. After a lot of hard work and patience, and with the help of family and many friends made along the way, Phuket Sail Tours is now a very popular provider of boat tours throughout Phang Nga Bay, Phi Phi, and beyond. Both sailboat and speedboat.

Over the last few years we have found that supply has not been able to keep up with demand. People really do want a high quality experience away from the crowds, in tune with nature, and where they can enjoy the best of what Phuket has to offer.

So, we are now providing Phuket Alternative Tours as a means of continuing to provide high quality experiences to our guests, and to provide a greater range of experiences. Many of the tours we have here are modeled on the successful Phuket Sail Tours programs; same program, same boat, same guides, and same commitment to providing a high quality experience. The only difference is that while Captain Mark is not aboard, one of our very experienced English speaking Thai guides is aboard to look after you. Our guides have been with us for years and know the tours as well as us, perhaps even better.

Some other tours on this site are provided by companies that we feel have an approach to delivering high quality services to their guests that is compatible with our way of doing things. You won't find cabaret shows, monkey shows, tiger petting or whatever here, they are just not our thing. But we will offer you tours that we feel you will appreciate.

Some of these tours we can sell on behalf of the provider, others we will refer you to simply as a favour to you and the people that run the activity.

Through the Rotary Club of Patong Beach we have contact with many local charities and projects. If you want to return some of your pleasure to the people that live here, particularly the disadvantaged, we provide a list of organizations and programs that we encourage you to support. If you want to make small cash donations, we have a donation box at our office in Au Por.

Our Priorities

Environment – The natural environment around Phuket is one of the wonders of the world. We want you to enjoy the special places we take you to in a tranquil setting. We avoid crowds as best we can and seek places that we can have to ourselves as much as possible. We are not happy to leave a location the way we find it, we try and leave it better.

People - Various cultures are present in Phuket, and this is a highlight of our tours, from the Buddhist temples and Wats, to the Sea Gypsies and the Muslim Fishing Village of Panyee Island. We will encourage our guests to have a meaningful and appropriate interaction with local people.

Experience – We want you to have a fantastic experience that will last in your memory forever. And hopefully that will draw you back to this beautiful part of the world again and again.
